1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using QR Code Scanner (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use the Service. Using the Service in any way, including simply browsing the site, constitutes acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.

2. About the service

QR Code Scanner provides free, browser-based tools to scan QR codes and barcodes using your device's camera or an existing image, and to generate QR codes for many content types such as text, URLs, email, phone numbers, WhatsApp, WiFi networks, vCards, calendar events, social profiles and more.

All tools operate entirely inside your web browser. This means the Service does not run its own server-side processing for scanning or generation, and no content you enter is uploaded for these purposes.

3. Eligibility

The Service is intended for anyone who is old enough to form a binding agreement and is not otherwise barred from using services under applicable law. By using the Service you confirm that you meet these requirements.

4. Lawful and acceptable use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. In particular you agree not to:

  • Use the Service to encode, distribute or promote illegal, fraudulent, harmful or misleading content;
  • Infringe the intellectual property, privacy or other rights of any person or company;
  • Attempt to disrupt, overload, attack or reverse engineer the Service or its infrastructure;
  • Use automated means (bot, scraper or similar) to access the Service in a way that could harm it.

You are solely responsible for the content you encode into QR codes and for how you use any code you generate or scan.

5. Content you generate

You retain full ownership and responsibility for any content you enter into the QR generator. Because generation happens locally in your browser, QR Code Scanner does not store, copy or access the content you generate, and has no ability to remove it from devices, printers or websites where you choose to publish it.

6. No data collection

The Service is designed to be privacy-friendly. It does not require an account, does not use analytics, and does not use tracking cookies or advertising. Your scan history (if you use it) is stored only in your own browser's local storage on your device, and never transmitted to any server.

7. Third-party links and services

QR codes can point to external websites, applications or stores that are not operated byQR Code Scanner. We have no control over, and accept no responsibility for, the content, privacy practices or availability of any external sites or services reached through a QR code. Scanned links are opened by your browser at your own risk.

8. Intellectual property

The software, design, logos, text and branding of QR Code Scanner are owned by or licensed to the developer. You may not copy, modify, redistribute, sell or create derivative works of the Service for any commercial purpose without prior written permission.

9. Accuracy and availability

We aim to keep the Service accurate and available, but we do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure or free of errors, and we may change, suspend or discontinue the Service (or any feature of it) at any time without notice.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. QR codes are generated from your own input, and you are responsible for verifying that any generated code encodes exactly what you intend.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, QR Code Scanner and its developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, revenue or business opportunities, arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Service — including incorrect QR code content, unavailable links, and actions taken by the users who scan your codes.

12. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless QR Code Scanner and its developer from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses or expenses (including reasonable fees) arising out of your use of the Service or your violation of these Terms.

13. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms or if continued access would be unlawful. Sections 6 through 13 of these Terms shall survive any termination.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer is located, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any disputes that arise will be resolved under the exclusive jurisdiction of that jurisdiction's competent courts.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. When we do, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
