Privacy Policy

Last updated: January 2026

1. Overview

QR Code Scanner is designed to be privacy-first. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use the Service. In short: the Service runs entirely in your browser, and your data is processed on your own device — not on any of our servers.

2. What we collect

We collect nothing. QR Code Scanner does not use analytics tools, does not use tracking or advertising cookies, and does not have user accounts. We do not ask for, store, or transmit any personal information such as your name, email address or device identifiers.

3. Camera and gallery access

When you use the QR scanner, your browser may ask permission to access your camera or your files. This permission is requested only at the moment you use the scanner.

  • Your camera feed is processed locally, in real time, and never recorded or uploaded.
  • Images you pick from your gallery are decoded on your device and never uploaded.
  • You can revoke camera or file access at any time in your browser's settings.

4. Scan history

If you keep scan results in the History page, they are stored in your browser's local storage on your own device. Scan history:

  • Never leaves your device;
  • Is never transmitted to any server;
  • Can be cleared at any time, item by item or all at once, from the History page.

Because history is private to your device, it is not indexed by search engines and is not visible to anyone else.

5. Generated QR codes

QR codes are generated entirely in your browser. The content you type is never sent to any server for generation, storage or analysis. Your generated codes exist only on your screen and in the files you choose to save or share.

6. Cookies and local storage

The Service does not use tracking or advertising cookies. The only data stored on your device is:

  • Your theme preference (dark or light mode), and
  • Your optional scan history, if you keep it.

Both are stored in local storage and can be removed by clearing your browser data.

7. Third-party services

We do not share data with third parties because we do not collect any data. The website is hosted by a hosting provider that, like all hosting providers, may keep standard, transient server logs (such as IP address and requested page) for security and operational purposes. We do not use these logs to identify individual visitors, and no third-party advertising or analytics networks are used.

8. Security

Because data is processed locally, the Service minimizes the amount of data that could ever be exposed. The website is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection, and security headers such as Content-Security-Policy, X-Frame-Options and Referrer-Policy are applied to protect against common web attacks.

9. Children's privacy

The Service does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since no account or personal data is required or collected, there is nothing stored about children using the Service.

10. Your rights

Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing to access, correct or delete on our servers. If you wish to remove data stored locally on your own device (theme preference or scan history), you can clear your browser's site data at any time.

11. Changes to this policy

Any changes to this Privacy Policy will be posted on this page with an updated date at the top. If we ever begin collecting data, this policy will be updated to describe that practice clearly and in advance.

12. Contact

If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or how the Service handles data, please contact Pabel Islam at pabelprfb@gmail.com.
